The president of the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) will remain at office despite a Jos High Court ruling that sacked him.
The NFF has responded to a Friday, April 8 court ruling that sacked the president of the body from office.Pinnick was sacked by a High court in Jos while Chris Giwa was ruled to be the president in his place.
Giwa has always claimed that the September, 2014 election which put Pinnick in office was faulty but his case has been ruled out by FIFA and the Court of Arbitration for Sports.

Following the court ruling that nullified the elections that brought Pinnick as president and other board members of the NFF, the body has swiftly moved to file an appeal, a motion to vacate the order and a motion for a stay-of-execution against the judgement of the Jos High Court.
The appeal filed on the same day means the status quo remains, meaning Pinnick remains NFF President pending determination of suit.
“This is a sad one primarily because we have enjoyed a period of peace and have been able to work without the court-today-court-tomorrow situation of the last half of 2014,” NFF 1st Vice President Seyi Akinwunmi told the NFF official website.

“We have filed for stay-of-execution and that means the status quo remains and anything done is done at the actors’ peril. I can assure football –loving Nigerians that there is no reason to panic as we are in full charge and there is no trouble whatsoever.”
Akinwunmi further revealed that there is no order for the Giwa group to take over the Glass House.
“In fact many of his so called board members have called to dissociate themselves from the matter,” he further stated.
