Man Lands In Police Net For Rough Driving

A driver, Azeez Busari (22), has been sent to the Kirikiri medium prisons, Apapa-Lagos by an Ikeja magistrates’ court 20 sitting at Ogba. 
Busari who resides at 5, Singer Street, Sango Ota, OgunsState drove his vehicle marked KSF 953 XK in a dangerous and reckless manner and hit a man, Oluwole Shokunbi, causing him serious bodily harm.

The police also alleged that as at the time he drove the vehicle, he had no road worthiness certificate and was without a valid driver’s license.
The suspect pleaded not guilty to all the four counts when the charge was read to him. The investigating police officer, Inspector Gbiri Francis, told the trial Magistrate, A.A. Adesanya that the accident was a minor one.

However, the victim was was said to be obtaining treatment at the Orile Agege general hospital as at the time Busari was arraigned.

Adesanya granted bail to the suspect in the sum of N200,000 with two responsible sureties each in like sum. They must possess tax and other means of identity. Their addresses will be verified by the court. In addition, one of them must be a recognised community leader like an Imam.

The case was adjourned for mention. Busari will remain in prison until he is able to satisfy the bail conditions.
