Spectre stars Naomie Harris and Ben Whishaw stick up for Sam Smith’s James Bond theme song

Sam Smith’s theme song for Spectre got a very mixed reception when it was first released but Naomie Harris and Ben Whishaw are both loving it.

The pair, who reprise their roles as Miss Moneypenny and Q in the upcoming James Bond film, defended the track Writing’s On The Wall.

The song was initially panned with fans comparing it to a Eurovision track and the sound of two cats fighting.

Speaking exclusively to Metro.co.uk, Whishaw insisted they had it wrong saying: ‘I really love it actually.

‘I wasn’t familiar with Sam Smith – probably the only person on the planet that wasn’t – but I really love his voice.’
He added: ‘I think it’s a really unusual song for a Bond theme.’
Harris also revealed that she liked that Smith’s voice conveyed ‘a lot of emotion’.
