Wilshere missed six months of last season after injuring his ankle in the 2-1 defeat to Manchester United at Old Trafford on 22 November, and was missing as his club beat Chelsea 1-0 at Wembley in Sunday’s Community Shield.

After the match, Wenger  said his player would be out for a few days but it seems that the injury is much worse than originally feared, with Arsenal prepared for bad news when the full extent of the damage to his left fibula is revealed by scans on Friday. According to the Guardian UK, the Englishman was probably  injured by a tackle from the Brazilian defender Gabriel.
A surgery would see him miss up to three months but could be return to training within six to eight weeks if not. Wilshere’s would most likely miss England’s Euro 2016 qualifiers against San Marino and Switzerland at the start of September.
FA cup holders, Arsenal defeated reigning English Premier League champions, Chelsea 1-0 in the community shield courtesy of a 24th minute strike from Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain.
