Di Maria Leaves Man Utd For PSG

Finally free from the bonds of Financial Fair Play, Paris Saint-Germain have signed Angel Di Maria from Manchester United for a fee believed to be around €63m (£44.3m).

The Argentine winger arrives the club just 12 months after signing for Manchester United from Real Madrid.
Di Maria said to the PSG website: “I am very proud, and can’t wait to wear the colours of Paris Saint-Germain. I want to win every competition we enter, both in France and Europe. I want to win the Champions League, which is a dream for all footballers, for a second time.

“We will do everything we can to bring Europe’s biggest trophy to France and the fans of Paris Saint-Germain.”

A week ago, Man Utd manager, Louis van Gaal, declared the winger missing. Di Maria failed to report back for pre-season training as planned on July 25, and Van Gaal confirmed that he had not boarded a plane to meet his team-mates in San Jose as planned.

The Dutchman further explained that after United went down 2-0 to PSG in a pre-season game in Chicago on Wednesday night, the player went AWOL, while Laurent Blanc, the PSG manager, revealed that talks are at an advanced stage.
