It was understood that Osimhen may have been left out for him to
focus on the qualifiers for the U-20 AFCON against Sudan in July.
Nigeria youth international Victor Osimhen has been dropped from the Dream Team for the 2016 Olympic Games.
Osimhen finished as the highest goal scorer at the 2015 FIFA U-17 World Cup which Nigerian won.He was promoted to the Dream Team and was part of the squad that won the U-23 African Cup of Nations in December 2015.
Pulse Sports can however confirmed that he will not be playing at the Olympics after he was left out of a 35-man provisional squad for the tournament submitted by coach Samson Siasia.
He was spotted on his Instagram wishing his friend Taiwo Awoniyi good luck ahead of the Olympics.
The striker last featured for Nigeria’s U-23 team in a 1-0 friendly win over Brazil and it is was understood that Osimhen may have been left out for him to focus on the qualifiers for the U-20 African Cup of Nations against Sudan in July.
Sudan host the Flying Eagles on July 8 with the return leg in Nigeria on July 22.
