Super Eagles and Chelsea midfielder, John Obi Mikel is set to overtake Nigerian football great, Kanu Nwankwo as the Nigerian with the highest number of Champions League appearances.

Mikel has been name in Chelsea's squad to face Paris Saint-Germain in Paris on Tuesday, February, 16.
If he is called into action and Chelsea progress to the quarter-final of the Champions League, Mikel could over take Kanu Nigerian with the highest numper of appearances in Europe's elite compettion.

Kanu holds the record with 60 Champions League appearances for the likes of Ajax and Arsenal four more than Mikel has for Chelsea.
Mikel like Kanu is a winner of the prestigious club trophy.
