Leicester City won to remain top, Chelsea got a rare win while Manchester United were beaten at home
Leicester City continue their fairytale form in the Premier League with an away win at Everton which keeps them at the top of the table heading into Christmas.
After the sacking of Jose Mourinho, Chelsea players were back to winning ways against Sunderland while Manchester United suffered a shocking defeat at home to Norwich.
Riyad Mahrez scored a brace as Leicester City beat Everton at Goodison Park 3-2.
The Algeria international opened scoring for Leicester with a 27th-minute penalty before Romelu Lukaku struck just after the half hour mark to equalise.
Mahrez fired home his second successive penalty of the contest in the 65th minute before Shinji Okazaki sealed the win four minutes.
Substitute Kevin Mirallas pulled a late goal back for Roberto Martinez's side.
With new coach Guus Hiddink watching from the stands, Chelsea players were at their best against Sunderland.
Branislav Ivanovic gave the home side the lead on five minutes, heading Willian's corner past Costel Pantilimon.
Chelsea were two ahead just eight minutes later when Pedro converted Ivanovic's cross inside the penalty area
Oscar added a third from the penalty spot shortly after half-time after Pantilimon felled Willian in the box
Fabio Borini handed the visitors a lifeline just minutes later, reducing the deficit after tapping in from close range.
The shock of the day happened at Old Trafford as United were beaten by Norwich.
Cameron Jerome opened the scoring with a shot before Alex Tettey doubled the Canaries' lead with a low finish in the second half.
Anthony Martial pulled a goal back for the Red Devils but they could not find an equaliser.
United have slipped out of Champions League places and have been replaced by Tottenham who impressively beat Southampton away.
Harry Kane scored the first goal five minutes before the break before Dele Alli doubled the lead to hand all the three points to Spurs.
