The Nigeria Navy continues its war on oil thieves declared over three months ago. This time a suspicious vessel in Delta state was apprehended and the investigation is about to start.
Accoring to information by NAN, a 110-metre vessel laden with 670 metric tons of suspected stolen crude oil apprehended at the Forcados oil terminal in Burutu local government area of Delta state.
This is not the first big operation by the navy.
On October 2, MT Everest vessel and its crew of twelve members were intercepted. The ship with a 3,000 metric ton-capacity was carrying petroleum product.
The Nigerian Navy handed over six vessels and 15 suspected oil thieves in Port Harcourt, Rivers state, to the Nigerian Security and Civil Defence Corps on November 8.
A vessel laden with about 4,000 metric tons of ​suspected ​stolen crude oil, eleven crew members were arrested in Delta state on November 15.
