2015 African Player of the Year: Toure, Ayew, Aubameyang make final three

The Confederation of African Football (CAF) have revealed their final three for the 2015 African Player of the Year.
An initial 37-man short list for the award which was revealed in October was cut down to 11 players in November
At a press conference attended by CAF Executive member Anjorin Moucharafou and Glo representatives on Monday, 14 December 2015 in Abuja, Nigeria, Andre Ayew (Ghana/ Swansea City), Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang (Gabon/ Borussia Dortmund) and Yaya Toure (Cote d"Ivoire/ Manchester City) have been revealed as the final three nominees for the African Player of the Year.
Toure has taken out the last four CAF Player of the Year awards. If he makes it five in succession this year, he will hold the outright record over Samuel Eto'o, who has also won it four times.

The Manchester City midfielder won the Africa Cup of Nations with Ivory Coast this year but will still face stiff competition for the individual prize, having been short of his best form at club level.
Aubameyang, who finished second last year, scored 25 goals for Borussia Dortmund last season and has been in hot form this year.

Ayew was impressive in 2015, taking Ghana to the final of the 2015 African Cup of Nations when before losing to Ivory Coast.

For the African Player of the Year - Based in Africa, the top three finalists are; Baghdad Boundjah (Algeria/: Etoile du Sahel), Mbwana Aly Samata (Tanzania/ TP Mazembe) and Robert Kidiaba (DR Congo/ TP Mazembe) ‎.
The winner to be decided by votes from Head Coaches or Technical Directors of the National Associations affiliated to CAF ‎will be announced at the Glo-CAF Awards Gala on 7 January 2016
