Presidential spokesperson, Femi Adesina

Presidential media aide, Femi Adesina has reacted to accusations made by the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) that the ruling party, All Progressives Congess (APC) is plotting to assassinate its members.

The accusation was made by PDP National Publicity Secretary, Olisa Metuh following an alleged assassination attempt on Deputy Senate President, Ike Ekweremadu on Tuesday, November 17, 2015.

Adesina described Metuh’s statement as ridiculous adding that Nigerians know who the real killers are.

“The allegation is so ridiculous that one shouldn’t reply that. It is ridiculous. Nigerians know the truth. Nigerians know those who are nest of killers," Adesina told Vanguard on Wednesday, 18.
Metuh had said:

“Some desperate power-mongers close to President Muhammadu Buhari, particularly those privy to his interest to contest the 2019 presidential election, and who have been reading his body language against the opposition, have gone ahead to establish a killer squad to wipe off strong opposition, deeming such a service to the President."
News of the alleged attempt on Ekweremadu’s life was disclosed via a statement released by his media aide, Uche Anichukwu.

The PDP said further that the decision by Senator Remi Tinubu, wife of APC leader, Bola Tinubu, to sit in the Deputy Senate President’s seat after the incident showed that she had already been chosen as his replacement.
