There Is Nothing Exciting About Ministerial List – Odumakin

Yinka Odumakin, the publicity secretary of the Yoruba socio-political group, Afenifere, on Thursday, October 1, said President Muhammadu Buhari’s ministerial list was not worth the wait.

According to Daily Post, Odumakin said the president should have submitted the names of his ministerial nominees at Eagle Square on Wednesday, May 29, adding that there was no exciting name on the list.

He said: “There is no excitement or surprise in the list. They are mostly run of the mill people that do not warrant waiting four months to have. Those names could have been submitted at Eagles square on May 29.”

The Senate President, Bukola Saraki on Wednesday, September 30, received the ministerial list containing the first 21 nominees to make President Buhari’s cabinet.
The ministerial nominees speculated include Dr. Chris Ngige, Kayode Fayemi, Rotimi Amaechi, Babatunde Fashola, Aisha AlHassan, Ogbonaya Onu (Abia) and Kemi Adeosun.

In a related development, it was reported that President Buhari used five factors to determine the appointment of his ministers they are, strict adherence to principle of non-interference in choosing his cabinet, integrity or pedigree; selfless service; old acquaintances and less exposure to political influence.

According to a top presidency source, a last minute change by President Buhari favoured the former governor of Anambra state, Chris Ngige, whose name came in at the eleventh hour.
