Cesc Fabregas is adamant that Chelsea can retain the Premier League despite their poor start to the season.
The Blues sit 16th in the table after eight games - 10 points adrift of league leaders and title rivals Manchester City.
Jose
Mourinho's side have lost four of their opening eight matches - with
City, Crystal Palace, Everton and Southampton all claiming the scalp of
the west London outfit.

Chelsea won the Premier League at a canter last season,
but the odds of a repeat campaign look unlikely
No
team has ever finished higher than fifth in the Premier League after
starting like this. But despite history telling him otherwise,
28-year-old Fabregas insists that closing the gap to those at the top
is attainable.
'I
still believe we can win the league. It's not going to be easy but a
10-point gap at this stage of the season is not impossible,' the
midfielder told The Sun.
'Last season, we took 22 points from our first eight games but this time every team has lost at least one.
'Manchester
City lost to West Ham and Tottenham when no one expected it, Manchester
United and Arsenal have also dropped points. No one at Chelsea is happy
with our current position but I would prefer to be here now than at the
end of the season.
'It's not how we start the campaign, it's where we finish it.'
Fabregas will be hoping that starts on Saturday afternoon when they host Aston Villa at Stamford Bridge.
