Alex Iwobi: Super Eagles forward signs new deal with Arsenal

Super Eagles forward, Alex Iwobi has signed a long term contract at Arsenal 

  

Soon to be Nigeria international, Alex Iwobi has signed a new contract with Arsenal.
The 19-year-old has been at Arsenal all through his career and has been a mainstay of the Gunners’ under-21s.
Iwobi was part of Arsenal’s team in the pre-season trip to Singapore and also the Emirate Cup in London where he scored his first senior goal against Lyon.
 
Iwobi is currently with the Super Eagles team after he was invited to national team by Sunday Oliseh.

Though he was born in Nigeria, Iwobi who is the nephew of ex Super Eagles captain Austin ‘Jay-Jay’ Okocha was raised in England and have played for their Under 16, 17 and 18 teams.

He however chose to play for Nigeria at the senior level and even trained with the Nigerian Dream Team earlier in the year.

"My dad too has told me a lot of things about the honour and pride that goes with playing for Nigeria,” Daily Mail quoted him as speaking about choosing to play for Nigeria.
So I thought a lot about this and decided to play for Nigeria.”
