Policeman Referee Pulls Gun On Players

As a referee what do you do when a team manager and substitute bench assault you for refusing to give out a rival a red card?

For referee Gabriel Murta (who is also a policeman), you pull out a gun and threaten any peasant who feels he was kick and push you because you are wearing a yellow jersey without your police badge.
According to the Telegraph UK, Murta pulled out his gun during a regional match in Brumadinho near Belo Horizonte, Brazil’s sixth largest city and the capital of the state of Minais Gerais between amateur sides Brumadinho and Amantes da Bola.

According to Valdenir de Castro, who is the local league president, Murta was kicked and slapped by Amantes da Bola subs and the manager after failing to give a rival player a  red card.


Murta retaliated by rushing to the dressing room and pulling a gun on the players who assaulted him. He has to be held back by his linesmen.
Gabriel Murta is facing disciplinary action after going to the changing rooms to get the weapon and racing back onto the pitch, waving it around.

According to referees’ association boss Giuliano Bozzano Murta pulled his gun because of the threats the players threw at him.

The official will undergo psychological assessment on Tuesday, September 29 and could face suspension or a permanent ban.
