UK Based Actor Bags City People Entertainment Award

Popular UK based actor, Tomiwa Alajogun has emerged winner of the 2015 edition of City People Entertainment Awards as Best New Yoruba Actor of the year.
The multi-talented UK based guy, who delved into Yoruba movie production two years ago was announced winner at the event which had in attendance thousands of guests and it was held at the Time Square Events Center, Ajao Road, Off Adeniyi Jones, Ikeja, Lagos Nigeria on Sunday 16TH August 2015.

Tomiwa Mathew Alajogun has been acting for some years in the United Kingdom; he began his career in Manchester United. The very industrious and articulate thespian started off playing basketball before going on to become a coach of a team called ICMB.
Acting for him started at a tender age, but he wasn’t given the freedom to do so by his parents, with time, he enrolled at the Manchester School of Performing Arts where he acquired the needed knowledge to be successful in his acting career.

He has featured in a couple of UK weekly TV series including the popular “The Red Garrote Strangler,” “Hunger Games” and many others. He has also acted alongside Hollywood star actor and director, Desheiles, an experience he says made him a better actor, ready to tackle challenges in making movies.
He has produced a lot of blockbuster movies within the two years of coming into Yoruba movie industry and they are  Temini Tieko, Oro Abele, Ogbon Lowo and many more. Major Matt as he is fondly called by fans was in the news recently when he ventured into music by releasing a couple of tracks produced by former Wizkid’s producer, Samklef.


One of the singles titled Banana Love got him 3 nominations at the Top Naija Music Awards (TNMA). It was nominated for the Best Pop Single, Best Recording and Best Commercial Single.
Speaking at the event, Tomiwa dedicated the award to his fans especially his parents and the family members who have been very supportive to his career since he joined Yoruba movies in 2013.
