While coyly answering questions about the Chelsea situation, Arsene Wenger backed the team doctor Eva Carneiro
Arsene Wenger has once again shown that he doesn't like Chelsea manager Jose Mourinho as he has backed Chelsea's embattled doctor Eva Carneiro.
Mourinho and Chelsea doctor Carneiro have
been in the spotlight all week following their touch line row during
Chelsea's Saturday, August 8 2-2 home draw with Swansea.
Mourinho fumed at the medical team for going on to the pitch to attend to Eden Hazard without knowing the extent of his injury. After the incident, Carneiro according to reports had her role in the club change and will no longer be working during Chelsea's games.
She has been barred from attending games or entering the team hotel by Mourinho.
While
Wenger refused to talk much about the situation, the Arsenal manager
however thinks Mourinho was the erring person in the issue.
"It can be a problem inside a club," Wenger when he was asked about the situation.
"It's difficult enough and if you're not united it's more difficult. Trust and unity inside a club is a strength.
"That story at Chelsea, I have not followed that and I do not have great interest in what's going on.
"Secondly,
the rules are clear, when the ref give indication for the medics to
come on they can come on. 'After that, in this situation, I don't know.
But the rules are quite clear. The referee makes the decision."
Despite pressure from the media, club owner Roman Abramovich, Mourinho is refusing to reinstate team doctor Eva Carneiro after last week's fall out.
