Mbaka Shuts His Church Because Of Jonathan

Following reports that his life was under threat, the controversial clergyman Reverend Father Ejike Mbaka has reportedly shut down his church, Adoration Ministries in Enugu.
Mbaka has suspended his weekly Friday crusade which he holds at the Adoration ground in Enugu until after the general elections.
When Vanguard visited the Adoration Ground on Friday night the place was deserted.

The Adoration Ground in Emene, Enugu, is noted for attracting over 100,000 worshippers every Friday from across the nation for spiritual healing and deliverance from satanic attacks.
However, last Friday, over 100,000 worshippers were left stranded and disappointed when they trooped to the church premises and were turned back.

Last Wednesday Mbaka had in a statement signed by his media officer, Ike Maximus Ugwoke, alleged a threat to his life.
He stated: “It is with a deep sense of concern that we are constrained to make this statement on the continued threat to the life of Rev. Fr. Ejike Mbaka over his 2015 New Year message titled ‘From Good Luck to Bad Luck. Last Wednesday, mean looking men in a black Hilux besieged his parish compound but they left disappointed when they could not see him.”
When contacted, a police spokesman Ebere Amarizu said, “we do not have any report by Fr. Mbaka over threat to his life,” dismissing the claim as baseless.
Father Mbaka used to support President Goodluck Jonathan, but recently made a u-turn and started criticising his administration.
On New Year’s Eve, Mbaka, in a sermon titled, “From Good luck to Bad luck” delivered at the Adoration Ground, blasted President Goodluck Jonathan over his helplessness in the war against corruption and his inability to stop the killing of innocent people in Nigeria.
His had been widely criticised by some Nigerians including his primary constituency, the Catholic Church, the ex-militant Asari Dokubo, the retired Catholic archbishop of Lagos, Cardinal Olubunmi Okogie, and the Catholic archbishop of Abuja, Cardinal John Onaiyekan.
