– Christian Chukwu believes the Nigerian League is better in terms of tactics
– He says Nigeria players move to Europe because of financial gains
– He says clubs owing players is the reason for Nigerian players moving abroad
Former Super Eagles Captain Christian Chukwu believes that the exodus of Nigerian players moving to other obscure leagues in Europe is for financial gains.
He stressed that the obscure leagues are not better than the Nigerian League but emphasized that players keep running out because of unpaid wages.
“It’s all in the name of money, it’s not that those countries have better quality than the Nigerian League, but if they stay in Nigeria, you cannot guarantee their welfare, salary and family that depends on them and so on because they cannot play more than 10 years if they have injury,” he said.
It is no news on how Nigerian players seek greener pastures to play football at any expense as long as they can be paid in foreign currencies to support their families back home.
