Super Eagles and Arsenal youngster, Alex Iwobi has been reportedly hospitalised in Nigeria after suffering food poisoning in camp.
Iwobi was the first foreign based player to arrive the Super Eagles camp in Abuja ahead of the 2017 African Cup of Nations qualifier against Egypt.
The 19-year-old was missing from training on Tuesday, March 22 and Super Eagles coach Samson Siasia could not train today because of food poisoning.
"He had been
purging all night after he ate dinner with his other colleagues in camp.
He got prompt medical attention from our doctors and I have just been
told that he is okay and ready to go," Siasia is quoted to say by Complete Sports.
"The medical team just confirmed to me that he'll be okay to travel to Kaduna with us and join us in the training in the evening," Super Eagles caretaker coach later added.
Iwobi and the full team will leave for Kaduna this evening at the Abuja National Stadium, which will be open to the media.
Nigeria
will play the Pharaohs of Egypt in Kaduna on Friday, March 25 with the
return leg to be played in Alexandria on Tuesday, March 29.
Egypt
are on top of the group with maximum six points after beating Tanzania
at home and Chad away while Nigeria are second with four points after a
win and a draw.
