The 26-year-old suffered the injury during his substitute appearance in the 2-0 loss away at Newcastle
Daniel Sturridge’s injury problems continue as the Liverpool striker is set to be out of action from a few weeks with a hamstring injury.
The 26-year-old suffered the injury during his substitute appearance in the 2-0 loss away at Newcastle United on Sunday, December 6.
Scans at the Spire Hospital in Liverpool revealed that his muscle was not torn but has been ruled out for a couple of weeks with a hamstring injury.
This means that the striker will not be part of Liverpool squad for the busy Christmas and New Year fixtures.
He will miss the Thursday’s Europa League clash with FC Scion, league games against West Brom, Watford, Leicester, Sunderland and West Ham.
The striker has been struggling with injuries this season.
This will be his fifth injury since September 2014 when he pulled his thigh muscle while in training with the England national team.
A calf injury followed before another thigh problem which he had to undergo a surgery for in May.
He spent last summer in the United States of America working on his fitness before returning to play three Premier League games against Norwich, Aston Villa and Everton, scoring two goal.
