Prince Enitan Adeyeye Ogunwusi, the 51st Ooni of Ife, will be crowned on Monday, November 30.
Osun state governor, Rauf Aregbesola, officially announced the appointment of Prince Ogunwusi as the new Ooni of Ife through a letter signed by the secretary to the state government, Alhaji Moshood Adeoti.
Ogunwusi who followed due process was unanimously voted by 14 out of 16 kingmakers as two of them were late.
It was reported earlier that the oracle approved the nomination of Ogunwusi when the Ifa was consulted and that the kingmakers also voted in tandem with the choice of the oracle.
The 21 days traditional seclusion rites being performed on the new Ooni of Ife, is expected to end in Obatala shrine.
Oba Ogunwusi had been moved into seclusion at a shrine known as Ilofi in Ile-Ife, Osun state, where he would stay for 21 days.
The new Ooni of Ife is a 40-year-old real estate entrepreneur. He attended the polytechnic in Ibadan, where he obtained a Higher National Diploma (HND) in accountancy. He is currently the managing director of Howard Roark Gardens Limited which is undertaking the multi-million naira Jacob Mews Estate project in Yaba and the Lakeview real estate development in Lekki.
