Enyimba became champions of the
Nigeria Professional Football League a record breaking seventh time
yesterday, November 8, after a 0-0 draw against title contenders Warri
Wolves.
With two matches remaining going into the game, Enyimba sat on top of the league with 68 points, closely followed by Warri Wolves on 62 points. A draw for the People’s Elephants will see them lift the NPFL crown with a game to spare.
The Two times CAF Champions league winners went on to do just that, despite playing with a man down in the second half following Etor Daniel dismissal after a dangerous stamp on Gbolahan Salami.
Nothing short of joy and jubilation trailed the blast of the final whistle as Enyimba held on for victory.
