Bill Cosby and ex lawyer, Martin Singer claimed former model, Janice
Dickinson lied about being drugged and rabed by the comedian after she
sued on May 20.
Bill Cosby and his ex-lawyer will be questioned for branding former model Janice Dickinson a liar.
However, the funnyman won’t have to answer questions relating to the 50 or so women besides Dickinson, who have accused Cosby of raping them, a Los Angeles judge ruled Monday, November 1.
As we earlier reported, Dickinson sued Cosby and attorney Martin Singer
for defamation on May 20 after they denied her claims that the comedian
drugged and raped her in 1982. In her ruling, Superior Court Judge Debre Katz Weintraub refused Cosby’s request to dismiss Dickinson’s lawsuit.
But the judge did say
Dickinson’s lawyer can only seek to find out whether the denials by
Cosby and Singer were done maliciously — and said both will be allowed
to assert attorney-client privilege when they refuse to answer some
questions.
Still, Weintraub said
the questioning, which will be done sometime before Thanksgiving, could
determine who really is the liar in this case. "In other words, either the rape did occur or it did not occur,” Weintraub said.
Neither Cosby, 78, nor Dickinson, 60, were in the courtroom when Weintraub issued her ruling, reports nydailytimes
