Anthony Martial has arrived in Carrington for the medical ahead of his £36million transfer from Monaco to Manchester United.
The
19-year-old looked relaxed, sporting shades and an open-collared shirt
as he was chauffeured to United's training complex in a black people
carrier on Monday.
United's
initial advances for Martial were rejected with Monaco demanding £58m
plus Javier Hernandez before they then asked for Marcos Rojo. The deal
was struck on Sunday night and could rise to £58m on bonus payments,
including in the event of Martial being named European Footballer of the
Year.

United
coach Van Gaal has been an admirer of the young forward for some time,
though Monaco had refused to sell despite interest from Tottenham
Hotspur, Juventus and Chelsea.
Monaco's
defeat by Valencia and subsequent exit from the Champions League,
however, gave Van Gaal encouragement to make his move.
The
Dutch coach believes Martial has huge potential to become one of the
most exciting forwards in Europe, having had him watched by scouts a
number of times last season.

Gaal asked executive vice chairman Ed Woodward to push forward
negotiations last week for the starlet who has been compared in style to

recently admitted they had received enquiries for Martial but maintained
he was not for sale.

Martial,
