Bayelsa state governorship candidate,
Moses Siasia, has concluded plans to dump the ruling Peoples Democratic
Party (PDP) in the state on Friday 21st of August,2015 with over 700
youth leaders across the 8 Local Government areas of the state for a yet
to be announced political party.
A source within the Moses Siasia campaign Organization who carved for anonymity informed Naij.com that 35year old gubernatorial aspirant decided to dump the PDP based on two major reasons; injustice to other aspirants by the new selected exco of the party who were installed by Dickson and lack of internal democracy within the various organs of the party in the state.
The source further claimed that over 15 political parties within the state might have adopted Moses Siasia as their sole candidate and want him to run on their platforms.
“Moses Siasia is leaving the PDP because he is convinced the party is not yet ready to change its ways of imposition and godfatherism” he said.
“Moses is convinced that the PDP has not learnt its lesson as to why it lost power at the centre and will surely suffer the same fate at the forth-coming elections in the state. What PDP has been doing in Bayelsa since 1999 is a situation where just some few people within the party seat down and decides who get what, when and how
” There is no reason to continue to stay in the party with him. It is advisable for everyone to leave the party for him so he can do as he wishes with it. Very soon, he will be the only one left in the party”, the source said.
It would be recalled that a sitting chairman of the PDP in the state and a former Managing Director of the Niger-Delta Development Company (NDDC), Timi Alaibe, and over 1000 PDP leaders in the state dumped the PDP for the APC for lack of internal party democracy within the PDP in Bayelsa State.
When asked if Siasia will be joining the team of decampees to APC, the replied that Moses Siasia will not join APC because of the cultural mentality of the Ijaw people who see APC as the party responsible for the defeat of their kinsman Goodluck Jonathan.
“Moses Siasia is very loyal to the Ijaw race and will never do anything to offend them or hurt their emotions. He is a patriotic Ijaw son and he is not a shortsighted person” he told our reporter.
Meanwhile, Timipre Sylva and Timi Alaibe, have been accused of recruiting Ijaw men outside the state as thugs to help rig the December 5, gubernatorial election.
