Sources say this meeting of retired militant warlords might be connected to the cancellation of the pipeline surveillance contract awarded to Tompolo’s company, during Jonathan’s administration.
The Movement for the Emancipation of the Niger Delta (MEND) seems to be re-grouping again.
News reaching us says that ex-militant warlords will be converging in Bayelsa state on Saturday, 25th July, 2015.
Our source says the invitation for the meet, was sent out by Government Ekpemupolo (aka Tompolo).
A copy of the notice sent out and personally signed by Tompolo, was obtained by Sun Newspapers.
It reads “My dearly beloved commanders and leaders of various wings of the Movement of the Emancipation of the Niger Delta (MEND), I greet you all. It is my pleasure to humbly invite you to a very crucial meeting”
