Military Reportedly Start Operation On Rescuing Chibok Girls

The defence authorities have disposed four attack helicopters and two air force fighter jets to kick out Boko Haram fighters from the Borno town, Gwoza.
The military have started an operation to liberate town, where the Chibok girls are reportedly hidden.

According to the Punch, a dependable source in the army told its reporter on March 26, Thursday, that the attack helicopters and the fighter jets left Yola, Adamawa State, at about 3pm, heading for Gwoza, the last town in Borno State under the control of terror militant group.
The source said that ground forces from Bama, Borno State, and Madagali in Adamawa State, were advancing towards Gwoza in the air and ground operation to end the reign of the terrorists in the area.
UPDATE: The military have issued the latest report on the operation in Gwoza. According to which several terrorists died while many are captured. Mopping up of entire town and her suburbs is ongoing.

Boko Haram abductee, a 56-year-old woman, has recently claimed that the Chibok girls, abducted in April 2014, are being held in Gwoza town. However, the statement by the DHQ keeps mum on their fate.
It should be noted that President Goodluck Jonathan, on March 25, Wednesday, promised that the Boko Haram fighters would be kicked out of Borno town.

The rescue of the Chibok girls, who are missing almost one year, can become the turning point for the incumbent head of the country as he is seeking re-election in upcoming polls.
Moreover, the general elections were postponed by the Nigeria’s main electoral body because of security reasons.
However, the reports emerged two days ago that Boko Haram abducted more than 500 people in Damasak, but the military have said that the story was fabricated.
