National stadium could be named after late Super Eagles great

Keshi's family has been informed of a plan by the Federal Government to name one of the national stadiums after the late coach.

Late Super Eagles great, Stephen Keshi is reportedly set to be immortalised by the Nigerian government.

Keshi who won two African Cup of Nations twice with Nigeria- one as a player and the other as a coach- passed away in the early hours of Wednesday, June 8, 2016 in Benin City, Edo State.

Following his death, the senate urged the Federal Government to immortalise the late Super Eagles great and it seems that will be done by naming one of the national stadiums after him.
A source told African Football that Keshi's family has been informed of a plan by the Federal Government to name one of the national stadiums after the late coach.

Keshi's funeral will hold in Abuja, Delta and Edo State (Sports Brand)

Nigeria’s minister of Youth and Sports Solomon Dalung has also revealed that Keshi will be buried this month.
According to Dalung, the former Togo and Mali coach will be given a state burial befitting of his status as an icon.
The Minister along with the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) are proposing the weekend of July 27- 29 for the funeral of the late coach.

A night of tributes is to hold in Abuja while lying-in-state, church service and novelty football match in Benin City are to precede the final interment in Illah, his home town.
