Saraki, Dogara pledge to complete NILS (PHOTOS)

-Senate President Bukola Saraki and  Yakubu Dogara, the the Speaker of the House of Representatives on Monday, February 15 pledged to complete the headquarters of the National Institute of Legislative Studies (NILS)
-He added that the legislature will sponsor the completion of the complex based on availability of funds
-Mr Zingak Gomwalk, the project architect that work on the site was stopped in March 2015 for lack of funding

Senate President Bukola Saraki and  Yakubu Dogara, the the Speaker of the House of Representatives on Monday, February 15 pledged to complete the headquarters of the National Institute of Legislative Studies (NILS).
While speaking during the tour of the National Institute for Legislative Studies (NILS), Saraki said that the complex was very important to the functions of the National Assembly.
He added that the legislature will sponsor the completion of the complex based on availability of funds.
However, Dogara also said that the institute will serve as a prime training institute for legislators in Nigeria and beyond when its completed. 
“What we can do in the face of dwindling resources is to identify priority segments of the project and try to complete them so that we can immediately put this place in use.

“This answers the question of how the National Assembly has been utilizing its budgetary allocation,” he said,
Mr Zingak Gomwalk, the project architect told newsmen that the project which had reached 26 per cent completion was sitting on an 8 acre land.
He added that work on the site was stopped in March 2015 for lack of funding adding that just a part of the 52 billion naira contract sum had been released.
The project which commenced in 2013 was for a duration of 24 months but that time had since lapsed.
