The president of Benin Republic, Boni Yayi was a guest of President Muhammadu Buhari, on Tuesday, August 25.
Both men, after a closed door meeting held a joint press briefing at the Aso villa.
It was gathered that they both agreed to strengthen security in the ongoing fight against Boko Haram as well as strengthen their economic cooperation.
The photos were shared on the official Twitter handle of Aso Rock Villa.
Recall that after Buhari’s swearing-in on May 29, Yayi had visited Abuja, together with the presidents of Chad and Niger, for a security summit on the creation of a multinational force against the Boko Haram.
On August 1, President Buhari had gone on one day working visit to the Republic of Benin, where he had been conferred with a traditional title ‘Manahouwhe’ Gbede’, which means “I will never forget you”. He and President Yayi had also discussed the issue of insurgency, which is growing in strength and sophistication and becoming quite a challenge for Nigeria.
