PDP Admonished To Engage In Constructive Criticism

Ibrahim Adamu Tudun Doki, the executive director, community centre for development, yesterday, August 4, admonished the Peoples Democratic Party to fully embrace the rudiments expected of a credible opposition.
He criticised the manner PDP is reacting to issues of governance, and advised the party to change in order to remain a credible opposition. He further lamented that the PDP is going about its opposition role in an unfortunate way.

He said this while commenting on the allegation that the Director General of Department of State Service (DSS) is an APC member.
“No smoking gun evidence have been presented so far. The only circumstantial evidence presented is the photo of Daura posing with General Buhari.

“It is unfortunate that we still play the politics of personalities running institutions of state, when we should focus on the performance of these institutions in line with their enabling statuses or operational mandate,” he said.
The PDP seems to be finding the role of opposition party difficult as it would be recalled that in recent times, the party has been having internal crisis that shows that it is not adequately prepared to play the role. Recently the party slashed the wages of its staff by half, a development that caused tension among the National Working Committee of the party and the workers.
