In denying the report, Director of Defence Information, Colonel Rabe Abubakar, told Channels TV that it was completely false.

The attack in
question was said to have occurred on Thursday, August 13, 2015, but was
discovered on Tuesday due to the destruction of telecoms masts by the
insurgents.
