Babalgue who also revealed Cristiano Ronaldos pre-contract agreement with Manchester United in 2008 and Fernando Torres move to Chelsea from Liverpool in 2010 revealed to Sky Sport’s Revista de La Liga that Manchester United chief Ed Woodward was in Barcelona to complete the deal.
He said: “Ed Woodward, the Manchester United chief executive, has been in Barcelona today, speaking to the club and the word is that a deal will be done this week one way or another.

“I understand a deal between the player and United is already in place and all that is left is for United to put the €30m on the table. They are just negotiating how they are going to pay it, with installments or an amount up-front.

“They are very close. I’m not sure whether Barcelona will try one last time with Pedro and say ‘don’t go’, but it seems his mind is already made up.”
Pedro is believed to rejected a move to Manchester City in order to move to Old Trafford. A fee is however yet to agreed for the 28-year old Spanish international whose contract has a £21.2m release clause.

Pedro has scored 99 goals for Barcelona in 321 apperances. During the 2009–10 season at Barcelona, he became the first player in history to score in six different official club competitions in one season (a feat later matched by teammate Lionel Messi).

Manchester United meanwhile have already sold Angel Di Maria, Rafael Da Silva, Luis Nani and Robin Van Persie this summer while Barcelona has added Arda Turan and Alex Vidal to their ranks though both players cannot play for the club till January due to a FIFA imposed transfer ban.
