Chelsea star Cesc Fabregas made sure to celebrate his remarkable return to the Blues squad in style, by meeting up with club legend Michael Ballack.
Fabregas returned to the Chelsea XI to face Manchester City at the Etihad Stadium, a match in which the Blues ran riot and registered an emphatic 3-1 win.
And Fabregas was keen to mark the occasion, choosing to meet up with former Chelsea midfield general Michael Ballack.
It was a coming together of past and present as the two men both occupied similar positions for the Blues.
Taking to his Instagram account, Ballack posted a picture showing both himself and Fabregas with their respective partners,
Sharing the image with his 270,000 followers Ballack captioned the snap: 'Celebrating the Chelsea win against ManCity... Nice to see you back on the pitch @cescf4bregas and great assist, as expected.'
The two men looked to be in high spirits and, given Fabregas' impact at the Etihad, it is clear to see why.
Following a prolonged period of watching from the stands, Fabregas returned to the fold after an injury to Nemanja Matic.
And, despite initially taking some time to adapt to the pace of the game, Fabregas soon settled and put in an all action performance.
As Chelsea staged a comeback against Pep Guardiola's side Fabregas was on hand to provide each of the assists.
His first, a sublime long distance pass to pick out striker Diego Costa, was labelled the 'pass of the season' by Sky Sports pundit Jamie Redknapp.
Fabregas also found himself in the thick of controversy, clashing late on with City midfielder Fernandinho and getting pushed off the touchline and into the crowd as a result.
