Swansea complete club record £15.5m Borja Baston deal

Borja Baston has signed a four-year deal with Swansea City after the club had a record bid of £15.5million accepted by Atletico Madrid.

Swansea City have announced the signing of striker Borja Baston from Atletico Madrid for a club record fee of £15.5million.
The Spain youth international has agreed a four-year deal to become the club's most expensive player, eclipsing the £12m they paid to sign Wilfried Bony from Vitesse in 2013.
"Swansea City have completed the signing of Atletico Madrid striker Borja Baston for a club-record fee of £15.5million, subject to international clearance," a Swansea statement confirmed.
"The 23-year-old, who will wear squad number 10, has penned a four-year deal after undergoing a successful medical today."
Borja scored 18 goals on loan at Eibar last season, making him the youngest player to score more than 15 times in Spain's top flight in 2015-16.
A product of Atletico Madrid's youth academy, he enjoyed promising loan spells with Deportivo La Coruna and Real Zaragoza after his career at the Vicente Calderon was stalled by a cruciate ligament injury in 2010.
Borja represents a crucial signing for manager Francesco Guidolin, with the announcement coming just three days after Andre Ayew left for West Ham for £20.5m.
Swansea had been left facing a striker shortage, with Alberto Paloschi having earlier been sold to Atalanta after Eder sealed a permanent switch to Lille.
