Omar Mateen fired 200 shots at victims of Orlando nightclub massacre, 20 of 49 people killed suffered head wounds

The victims of the Pulse nightclub massacre were hit by Omar Mateen's gunfire 200 times, according to autopsies released by medical examiners today.

Autopsies from 31 victims and Mateen, who was shot eight times by police, were released on Friday, with the final 18 victims’ released on Monday evening. The medical reports have given more insight into how Mateen killed 49 people in the morning of June 12 in America's worst terrorist attack since September 11, 2001.

Twenty of the 49 people killed by Omar were shot in the head with an assault-style rifle. The 200 bullets fired by Mateen does not include the 53 people who were wounded but survived the attack.
