The rumour concerning the singer's move from Globacom came following
his recent exit from Ciroc. He reportedly refused to renew his contract
with the vodka brand.
Following reports that
Kokomaster, D'banj, has terminated his ambassadorial contract with
Globacom and joined MTN, Frank, the manager of the singer has refuted
this claim.
According to him, it is the singer's record label that has ties with MTN.
Frank stated this in an interview published by Punch News on Saturday, August 6, 2016.
He said, “D’banj
is not an MTN ambassador; he still has a contract with Globacom. We saw
the report on some blogs that he has ‘switched over’ to MTN but it is
false. D’banj’s record label, DKN, is doing business with MTN."
"The
label is a vast license administrator and we do caller back tunes
across all networks. A lot of people saw the news and assumed it is
D’banj that moved to MTN but it is false, DKN is doing business with
MTN."
“There is a platform called the
Cream Platform and it is for people in the creative industry especially
the up and coming artistes who need support."
"What
we did was that we developed a platform that would enable them send a
message to a short code and if at the end of the month you are
shortlisted, Cream would take the responsibility of fulfilling your
request."
"For instance, if you want to
shoot a video, or you want a collaboration with an A-list artiste, after
sending a test to the short code, if shortlisted at the end of the
month, Cream would help actualise your dream."
"That is what we have with MTN. But when people saw the news, they just assumed that it was D’banj that was involved with that."
The rumour concerning the singer's move from Globacom came following his recent exit from Ciroc.
Report has it that the singer refused to renew his contract with the company after it ended.
R&B singer, Banky W, is however still signed with the brand (Ciroc).
