United's executive vice-chairman Ed Woodward and Mourinho’s agent, Jorge Mendes met on Tuesday, May 24 to discuss details of the contract.
Mourinho was seen leaving his London home on Tuesday as he prepares to move base to Manchester.
Property movers were seen working at the Portuguese home on Monday as discussion continues between his agent and United.
According to reports, the new United coach will stick with his trusted backroom staff of Rui Faria as his number two man, goalkeeping coach Silvino Louro.

is the only man standing from the backroom staff of Van Gaal. The Welsh
man is however expected to be given another role at the club.
Mourinho is said to be interested in signing free agent, Zlatan Ibrahimovic. His other reported targets included Nemanja Matic, John Stones and French defender Raphael Varane.
He is also set to axe Juan Mata whom he sold to United during his time as Chelsea coach.
