Taye Taiwo have blamed Marseille president for their struggles this
season in the Ligue 1 as they are currently in 12th position
Nigerian left-back Taye Taiwo has blamed Vincent Labrune, president of his former club, Olympique Marseille for their lack of progress.
Taiwo joined Marseille in 2005 at the age of 20 and left in May 2011 to AC Milan. He won the Ligue 1 title with the side during his six-year stay.
Marseille
have struggled this season in the Ligue 1, currently in 12th position
and the left back who now plays for Finnish club HJK Helsinki says the club's lack of vision in the transfer window is the reason.
“I am struggling
to understand how he makes a call when he signs a player. After two good
games, he brings them to Marseille for €17 million. It is not possible,” the former Super Eagles star told So Foot.
“You simply cannot let Dimitri Payet go. The same applies to André Ayew, Mathieu Valbuena or André-Pierre Gignac. It doesn’t make any sense,” Taiwo added.
The 3- year-old defender says the team have too many youngsters and lack leaders at the back.
