The Ooni of Ife has shown great interest in tourism and hopes to use it to develop Ile-Ife into a world tourist center.
In a bid to engage the youths of Nigeria, the Ooni of Ife, Oba Adeyeye Ogunwusi, has announced his intention to host a competition Ojaja II Musical Talent Hunt & Concert.
Participants in the competition are said to be in contention of winning cars and cash prizes if they emerge as winners.
The Ooni's Director of Media Comrade Moses Olafare and the event's Project Director, Alhaji Rotimi Osobemekun were at a joint press briefing in Ile-Ife, where the information is communicated.
The
musical talent hunt competition is expected to kick off in August 2016,
but the auditioning of the contesters will begin in July.
Alhaji Rotimi Osobemekun said, "Gentlemen
of the press, am happy and proud to tell you that a reputable
indigenous event company known as NUFF JAMZ ENTERTAINMENT is in charge
of this yearly event taking place in August while the auditioning
commences in May 2016.”
“Many thanks to
our youth oriented monarch Ooni Adeyeye Enitan, Ojaja II for this
gesture which will not only add value to lives of Nigeria youths only
but will also see them shun all form of anti-societal vices".
Oba Ogunwusi has shown interest in many development campaign since he ascended the throne.
He has shown determination in ensuring that becomes a centre of attraction using tourism as his main agenda.
