Samson Siasia says Mikel Obi wants to play in the Olympics after missing out from his squad for the 2008 edition.
Coach of Nigeria Dream Team VI Samson Siasia has revealed that John Obi Mikel wants to play in the football tournament of the 2016 Olympic Games.
Mikel
is one of the senior players that will reportedly be included in
Siasia's team to Rio and the coach has confirmed that the Super Eagles captain wants to be part of it.
“I guess that because Mikel missed out the last time, he wants to make up for it,” Siasia is quoted to say by Sports Page Nigeria.
“Not
only that, the last couple of games he has played for the Super Eagles,
he has been playing very well, and if he wants to be part of the team,
of course he is welcome, but as I said we have to look at the positions
we really, really need people."
The Dream Team of Nigeria have been drawn in Group B alongside Group B Sweden, Colombia and Japan for the football tournament of 2016 Olympics in Rio, Brazil.
