The Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) has named Samson Siasia as coach of the Super Eagles following the resignation of Sunday Oliseh.
Oliseh in the early hours of Friday, February 26 announced his resignation from the Super Eagles job citing contract violations, lack of Support and unpaid wages.Ahead of the 2017 Africa Cup of Nations qualifying double header against Egypt next month, the NFF has appointed Siasia as the head coach to be assisted by Salisu Yusuf, FIFA U-17 World Cup –winner Emmanuel Amuneke and Alloy Agu.
The combination was recommended by the NFF Technical and Development Committee following Oliseh's retirement.
The former Super Eagles midfielder managed the national team between November 2010 -when he succeeded Swedish Lars Lagerbäck- and October 2011 -after he was sacked for failing to qualify Nigeria for the 2012 AFCON in Gabon & Equatorial Guinea.
Salisu Yusuf and Alloy Agu were in the immediate past crew led by Oliseh and will serve as the bridge with the new team as Nigeria gets set for a potentially –explosive double date with the Pharaohs in March.
