Obafemi Martins's goal against Colorado Rapids in April has been chosen among the four finalists in the AT&T MLS Goal of the Year
Obafemi Martins striker for Seattle Sounders against the Colorado Rapids on April 18 has earned him a top four place in the MLS Goal of the Year awards.
The striker received a long ball from teammate and beat the defender with a back heel before curling a ball past the goalkeeper.
The goal has been chosen among the four finalists in the AT&T MLS Goal of the Year.
Martins’ goal is against those from Sporting Kansas City’s Krisztian Nemeth, Toronto FC’s Sebastian Giovinco and Real Salt Lake’s Olmes Garcia.
Martins won the award last year with a gorgeous chip to the back post against the San Jose Earthquakes.
The striker has been inform for his MLS side and regain a call-up to the Super Eagles of Nigeria.
In his three seasons with the Seattle Sounders, Obafemi Martins has scored 40 goals with 23 assists in MLS play
According to reports, Newcastle United and Sunderland are interested in signing the striker on a short loan deal during the MLS off season.
