Recall that President Buhari had on September 30 sent the first batch of ministers to senate leadership through the senate president. The president on October 12, sent the list of the 2nd batch of ministerial nominees to the Senate.
According to Yusuph Olaniyonu, the special adviser on media and publicity to Saraki, he said Saraki in an official letter sent through Senator Ita Enang, Senior Special Assistant to the President on Legislative Matters (Senate), informed the President that the Senate has found the 18 nominees who have gone through its confirmation hearing suitable to occupy the office of ministers of the Federal Republic as provided for in Section 147 (2) of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, 1999, as amended.
The nominees whose appointment by the President have been confirmed are Senator Udoma Udo Udoma, Dr. John Kayode Fayemi, Chief Audu Innocent Ogbeh, Dr. Ogbonnaya Onu, Dr. Osagie Ehanire, Lt. Gen. Abdulrahman Bello Danbazau, Alhaji Lai Mohammed, Hajiya Amina Ibrahim Mohammed, Eng. Suleiman Adamu and Alhaji Ibrahim Usman Jibril.
Others are Mr. Babatunde Raji Fashola (SAN), Dr. Ibe Kachikwu, Abubakar Malami (SAN), Dr. (Sen.) Chris Nwabueze Ngige, Sen. Aishat Jummai Al-Hassan, Barr. Solomon Dalong, Mrs. Kemi Adeosun and Sen. Hadi Sirika.
Meanwhile, as the Nigerian senate postpones the ministerial screening, some politicians have reacted to the whole process describing praised the exercise as impressive.
