Liverpool are preparing a transfer bid for Sassuolo’s Domenico Berardi, reports say.
Sassuolo bought the full registration rights to Berardi from Juventus for £7.2million over the summer but the Serie A outfit have revealed there is still interest for the 21-year-old striker.
And the Reds are one of the clubs lining up an offer for Berardi, according to the Daily Express, but they may come up against some resistance if they try to sign the youngster.
Sassuolo managing director Giovanni Carnevali said: ‘I can rule out a January move.
‘That’s not part of our company policy.
‘Last year, we invested £7.2m in him so for now Berardi is completely a Sassuolo player and we’re not a club that needs to sell.
‘With Juventus it’s an open discussion. It’s an advantage, but Juventus are not the only ones to be following Berardi.’
It’s understood Reds boss Klopp was keen on bringing Berardi to Borussia Dortmund when he was in charge of the Bundesliga club.
