Football lovers will have to chance to see
former greats of the game battle on the pitch once every four years at
the legends world cup.
According to ESPN Deportes, the world cup will be held in three Mexican cities – Monterrey, Guadalajara and Mexico City – with a total of 12 nations participating.
The games will be played for 60mins instead of 90mins, have unlimited substitutes and the proceeds from the games going to Mexican charity foundations.
It was further reported that more details of the legends world cup will be released in January.
The countries expected to partake are: England, Germany, France, Spain, Italy, Netherlands, Mexico, United States, Brazil, Argentina, South Africa, Japan
According to ESPN, Netherlands legends like Dennis Bergkamp, Patrick Kluivert, Clarence Seedorf and Ruud Gullit will play at the event, coached by Frank Rijkaard at the event. Total football idealogist Johan Cruyff will work in a broadcasting capacity.
Germany will be coached by Lothar Matthaus with Michael Ballack set to lead the side.
Juan Sebastian Veron is ready for Argentina while Gaizka Mendieta is on board to feature for Spain.
Zinedine Zidane who is always ready to play in charity events is reportedly good to go for France while just one Mexican, legendary goalkeeper Jorge Campos will feature for the host country.
