Justin Bieber’s wracking up a sizeable list of awkward interviews.
From the time he misunderstood the word ‘German’, to him shaming a German presenter for not knowing her Bieber facts, awkwardness seems to follow the singer around.
His latest cringetastic interview took place on Spanish radio, where the presenters’ broken English led to all kinds of misunderstandings and strange questions.
‘Why you say Sorry?’ Is the first question fired at the singer about his new single. ‘You are 21, you are a superstar, why you say Sorry?’
‘Na I think it’s a broad term. It’s whatever you want to interpret it as. It’s not a specific person. It’s for everyone,’ he explains.
In between each question the presenters gossip away to each other in their native tongue, leaving Justin to wonder what the hell is going on. At one point he’s left to awkwardly sip from a water bottle as the interviewers have a full on conversation amongst themselves.
He’s then asked if during his EMAs speech he ran out of people to thank as he didn’t thank that many people.
‘I just wanted to be in the moment. I don’t wanna have to think about all these different people during this time, I just wanna enjoy it,’ he said. ‘If they need me to thank them on an award show to make them feel validated, you weren’t doing it for the right reasons anyway.’
The cringe rating starts to rise as Justin shifts uncomfortably in his seat.
He is then told that as he always wins Best Male Artist, there needs to be a Best Male Artist Except Justin Bieber award, and he’s asked who he would give that to. Slightly flummoxed, he responds: ‘Drake.’
He’s then asked who the woman is behind his look, which, instead of being a question about his stylist, Justin misinterprets as a question about his love life.
But while most celebs might grit their teeth and smile, Justin had other ideas. When he was asked to get up and make a video to ‘break the internet’ the singer seized the opportunity and scarpered. At the end of the video interview the words ‘y Justin nunca volvió…’ flash up. ‘And Justin never returned…’
