Odegbami has been given the go ahead by the Nigeria Football Federation
(NFF) to contest at next year’s FIFA presidency elections.
Former Abia state governor, Orji Uzor Kalu who indicated his desire to contest has however be ignored.
Odegbami will act as Nigeria’s sole representative at the elections, Complete Sports Nigeria revealed.
Odegbami has however denied knowledge of the endorsement saying he is still waiting for the NFF to contact him
He said: “I haver only been hearing it, many people have been calling to ask but I have not been called officially from the FA but I hope it is true.”
The election to replace current FIFA president Sepp Blatter will hold on February 26, 2016 in Switzerland.
