This comes on the heels of a potential sextuple within a calendar year when his team travels to Tbilisi in Georgia to contest the 2015 UEFA Super Cup against Sevilla FC.
Despite regarded as nothing more than a pre-season friendly, the UEFA Super Cup ranks amongst one of the most difficult diadem to win.
Barca’s first hurdle en route to the sextuple is however a difficult one as their opponent is the defending champions of the UEFA Cup and a very familiar rival.
The last time the two teams met in the UEFA Super Cup, the final score was not in Barcelona’s favour. Sevilla got the better of their compatriots in Monaco back in 2006.
Scotland’s William Collum will be at the centre when both teams square up against each other.
Speaking to UEFA.com ahead of the clash, Collum described his appointment as his “biggest achievement”.
Collum will lead a six-man refereeing team for the UEFA Super Cup at Tbilisi’s Boris Paichadze Dinamo Arena.
Assistant referee: Damien MacGraith (Republic of Ireland)
Assistant referee: Francis Connor (Scotland)
Fourth official: Graham Chambers (Scotland)
Additional assistant referee: Bobby Madden (Scotland)
Additional assistant referee: Kevin Clancy (Scotland)
The appointments were made by the UEFA Referees Committee.
This tie promises to be a showdown this time.
The venue, Boris Paichadze Dinamo Arena is a stadium in Tbilisi, Georgia, and the home stadium of Dinamo Tbilisi, Georgia national rugby union team and Georgia national football team. With a capacity of 54,549, the stadium is the largest in Georgia.
